Global pharma sales up 9.3% in January

NEW YORK, April 17 (newratings.com) – Analysts at UBS expect global pharmaceutical sales to have risen by 9.3% in January, excluding currency impacts.
In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that global pharmaceutical sales in the 12 key markets rose 4.6% in US dollar terms in January. Global pharma sales grew 7.7% excluding unfavourable currency effects, the analysts add. International sales growth for PFE's Lipitor accelerated to +8% in February, while sales growth of AZN's Nexium, Seroquel and Crestor was robust, UBS adds. LLY's Zyprexa lost some market share in February, according to the analysts.
