DJ MARKET TALK: MAN, Scania Talk Reverses, Seen Doubtful

10/03/06 - Dow Jones Newswires

1426 GMT [Dow Jones]--MAN AG (MAN.XE) shares +3.7% at EUR72.59 amid talk that Volkswagen (VOW.XE) and Scania (SCV-A.SK) are planning to make an offer of EUR81 per share for MAN. Such a reversal of the current scenario is "possible," one trader says, although he points out that "right now, every scenario is...being played out." However he is doubtful that a concrete bid will be made Tuesday as today is a public holiday in Germany. Also notes this talk was already floating around last week. VW says it does not comment on market rumors. MAN declines to comment. Scania declines to comment. (MVC/MOD)
