04/17/07 - newratings.com
NEW YORK, April 17 (newratings.com) – Medical devices manufacturing company Boston Scientific Corp (BSX) Tuesday announced that it had received the US FDA approval for one of its heart device leads.
Boston Scientific said the FDA had approved its Acuity steerable left ventricular lead, an electrode system for placement in the heart through blood vessels. The lead is for use with Boston Scientific’s implantable Defibrillators and pacemakers used for cardiac resynchronization therapy, the company added. The product, which can also be reprogrammed, is expected to be launched in July this year, Boston Scientific stated. The approval comes a day after the lifting of FDA restrictions on the company’s cardiac rhythm management device plant.
