Renault May sales down 4.2%

LONDON, June 13 (newratings.com) - Renault SA (RNL) Wednesday announced that its worldwide car sales had declined by 4.2% in May.

The struggling French carmaker said it shipped 214,358 units under the Renault, Dacia and Renault Samsung Motors brands in the month. The decline follows a 4.8% downturn in April. Sales in Europe were down 9.1% in May, while non-European sales rose 6.8%, mainly on account of a 27.8% jump in Latin American sales. Among the brands, sales of only Dacia climbed by 23.9%, while those of the other two brands slipped.
