NEW YORK, September 23 (newratings.com) – Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (TTWO) Friday announced that its Rockstar Games publishing house would resume the sales of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" next month.
A couple of months ago, the company was forced to withdraw its best-selling "Grand Theft Auto" game from the market due to hidden sexually explicit content. Rockstar Games said that it would launch a special edition of the game, "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," for Sony Corp's PlayStation 2 console system on October 18. Rockstar Games also intends to launch "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy," which includes "Grand Theft Auto 3," "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," for Microsoft Corp's Xbox system. On September 7, Take-Two Interactive Software had reported quarterly losses of $28.8 million or 41˘ per share, reflecting a decline in the company’s sales due to the controversy surrounding the game.
