NEW YORK, February 22 (newratings.com) - Analyst Shiv S Kapoor of Montgomery & Co maintains his "buy" rating on Gilead Sciences (GILD). The target price is set to $82.

In a research note published yesterday, the analyst mentions that positive data is expected from novel HIV drug classes at the annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) next week. Gilead Sciences’ integrase inhibitor GS-9137 is likely to exhibit robust efficacy, the analyst says. The company’s lead Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (NRTI), Viread, is expected to continue to capture market share from other NRTI's. Gilead Sciences’ both Truvada and Viread products are unlikely to witness competition over the next several years, Montgomery & Co adds.
