Google teams up with NASA in space research

NEW YORK, September 29 (newratings.com) – Search engine giant Google Inc (GOOG) signed a deal with NASA on Wednesday to primarily collaborate on massively-distributed computing.
According to the agreement, Google would build a new campus at the NASA Research Park at Moffett Field and join forces with NASA scientists. Google is expected to cooperate with the NASA on research projects such as large-scale data management, nanotechnology, massively distributed computing and the entrepreneurial space industry. Google recently hired Vinton Cerf, who has worked with the NASA on interplanetary communication for the last few years and who is also widely known as one of the founding fathers of the internet. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
