DJ MARKET TALK: Sage Acquisition Of Emdeon Hard To Sell

08/09/06 - Dow Jones Newswires

0713 GMT [Dow Jones] Sage Group (SGE.LN) will have to work hard to sell its planned GBP297M acquisition of US healthcare software company Emdeon to the market, says WestLB. Says the deal moves away from traditional model of buying up accountancy software companies to gain market share. But notes it could provide opportunities to sell existing Sage financial software to US doctors. "This is one of the more ambitious and expensive acquisitions from Sage, but they have been indicating this for a while," says WestLB's Jonathan Crozier. Shares trade unchanged at 222p.(DTH)
