PartyGaming in talks with US Justice Department

LONDON, June 5 (newratings.com) – PartyGaming Plc (PRTY-GBX), the world's largest Internet poker company, Monday said it had held talks with the US Department of Justice with respect to its activities prior to the imposition of a ban on Internet gambling in the country.

The Gibraltar-based company said in a statement that it was "voluntarily" responding to requests for information from the Attorney's Office for the southern district of New York. Internet gambling was effectively banned in the US last October. PartyGaming indicated that it was too early to evaluate the possibility of any specific outcome of these discussions.
