Boeing wins $3bn order from Lion Air of Indonesia

NEW YORK, June 18 (newratings.com) - Boeing Co (BA) Monday announced that it has won an order for 40 airplanes from Jakarta-based airliner Lion Air.
The American aircraft manufacturer said that the Indonesian airline had ordered 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplanes, which are worth over $3 billion at list prices. The 40 fresh orders bring the total number of 737-900ER (Extended Range) airplanes ordered by Lion Air to 100. As of May 31, 2007, the number of 737-900ERs on order stood at 169. Lion Air is the largest low cost airliner in Asia, and operates an all-Boeing fleet. Boeing will deliver a total of seven 737-900ERs in 2007 to Lion Air.
