California Amplifier downgraded to "sell" - update

06/23/03 - Roth Capital

NEW YORK, June 21 (New Ratings) - Analysts at Roth Capital Markets downgrade California Amplifier (CAMP) from "neutral" to "sell."

In a research note published yesterday, the analysts mention that California Amplifier is dealing with issues such as weak demand from satellite operators, severe pricing pressure and excess inventories. The analysts have suggested that an alternative strategy could be to opt to maximise its sales in the fixed wireless and WiFi markets. However, the analysts say that the fixed wireless market is small, whereas California Amplifier is a volume manufacturer. Contribution to revenue from its WiFi business is still a long-term projection, the analysts state.
