LONDON, August 27 (New Ratings) – British Airways (BAY2) announced its plans today to cancel 24 additional flights in the next few days. However, the airline has expressed its confidence in coping comfortably with the Bank Holiday rush over this weekend.
British Airways has cancelled more than more than 100 flights to and from Heathrow Airport in the past few days. The airline's flight schedules have been considerably disrupted by staff shortages and several technical glitches through this week. British Airways' Chief Executive Officer, Rod Eddington, and about 200 employees have reportedly volunteered to work over the weekend, which is considered to one of the busiest passenger traffic periods due to the Bank Holiday on the forthcoming Monday, to minimize any further disruptions.
