ACS wins $610mn contract from Walt Disney

NEW YORK, June 13 (newratings.com) – Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) has received a seven-year contract worth about $610 million from the global media and entertainment giant, Walt Disney Company (DIS).

The US-based computer services provider said in a statement on Monday that it has signed a seven-year contract to provide outsourcing and computer services to Walt Disney. In May this year, Walt Disney had said that it would eliminate some of its IT jobs by transferring the work to outside companies. Reuters quoted Monday a source familiar with the matter as saying at the time of the announcement of Walt Disney's job-cutting plans in May that the exercise would remove 1,000 IT jobs from the company's operations in New York, Los Angeles and Orlando, Florida.
